A Conversation for Multimedia

I work in this field. No I am not a farmer, I work in the field of Multimedia.
Rather than an audio-visual extravaganza I believe it's the result of experience over hope. Like an endless tape loop of Leonard Cohen singing 'All Things Bright And Beautiful' accompanied by a flatulent labrador.
To put it in mathematical terms, if x is the cost of a good TV programme and y is the cost of a good book then the amount spent on the multimedia product tends to be (x+y) divided by a rather larger number than you'd expect.
The TV people expect the book people to provide the content and the book people expect the TV people to sort out the design. They all have lots of meetings whose result is blaming the multimedia developers for (a) going over budget, (b) missing deadlines and (c) not being well designed and full of useful content.
Cynical but true.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
