The theoretical reason for marriage is because two people are in love. The practical reason for marriage is to ensure that the male stays around for the protection of the female while she bears the offspring. This latter reason has now been long superseded of course by the main reason now which is the provision of material possessions for the female plus 24 hour provision of services, ie taxi, gardener, general fetching and carrying etc.

Ouch, no wonder no one else has replied, not that i disagree with you 100%, but in this day and age it is very difficult to say things like that, no matter how true.
One:- The girls are going to hate you.
Two;- the boys are so scared these days that they dare not come out in any sort of response. It's sad really with the demise of the old style club, you know 'where men could be men' and keep quiet about it. But now ............
we acnnot move without it being ....sexist, racist, homophobic, whats the opposite of that, I'm not sure if there is one. .
I have been around awhile now, and instincts tell the males to look for beautiful women, and women to look for macho guys that will not only protect them physically, but also take care of them finacially. (They are, in this day and age one and the same, in the early days, macho men tended to be the leaders of the pack, so hook up with hero guy and you have it made.
This is, from a species survival aspect, optimum.
And any gal that tells you she is looking for a caring, understanding, soft, gentle, will do the washing up, kind of guy is lying. She will go out with you for a few weeks then, whooooooof, she's out the door.
As Jim Carey said in the mask "Nice guys finish last" and after 20 years of adult manouevering with ladies, it's spot on!

I could be guessing here Ubique, but I have just been to your user page, and you have not answered anything for some time. i was particularly upset by your input to 'the ultimate question' which was very critical, yet you actually added nothing.
Who are you to judge.
Looking at your home page you don't really care.
I.E. there is nothing there, not a sausage, zilch, diddleysquat, **** all.
