Yes, this Saturday, April 23rd, come and meet Mr. Dreadful and give him a traditional SRG "welcome".
Oh, sorry. Current attendees: fords, EV, Mr Dreadful (and possibly Mrs Dreadful). Any more takers? Time? Location? Beer?

Sorry, I'll be in London. Reddyfreddy's going to show me some Polish dancing. At least, I *think* that's what he said...

Watch out, Lucky Star! He may take you to Big Larry's Polecat Paradise!

I have one request: be gentle!
My liver ain't what it used to be (on account of what I did to it in my teens, binging at least once a week for five years really took it's toll), so my drinking capacity is somewhat diminished... I'll take beer (beer is good), and scotch (mmmm) if I'm in the right mood but will need to pace myself with water and soft drinks to keep the internal organs happy.

Sorry, I can't make it this weekend. A friend of mine's coming over to sign papers to sell his house, and I've promised to go pick him up at the airport and then meeting up with a few other people for a BBQ.

Mmmm, BBQ.
Okay then, Mr D, we'll take pity on you as much as we can. Should we start in the afternoon as per a normal meet, or just make it an evening event?

Hmm... that's a big decision. Go out *before* or *after* Doctor Who... either's fine by me, I'll be setting the video before I leave home tomorrow anyway.

Another quick request (although this may be obvious and not need saying): I shall require a non-trendy pub with a distinct lack of loud music where I can purchase real ale.

As for time, I've had a think and think starting between 1-2pm would be good. That way we'll be in that lovely 'leisurely afternoon drink and chat' zone. With crisps if available.

Mr Dreadful at the moment I'm working 24/7 more or less. Until some time in the early hours of May 6 at least.

Ahh yes... that'll be on account of this 'election' thing I keep hearing about.

The traditional meeting place for an Edinburgh meet is the Standing Order... http://www.nightb4.com/reviews/read/369.html?sid=0b05a7abf4551280bdcdbe68b69c526f
Would this meet your requirements?

Anyway, location-wise anywhere around the Royal Mile/High Street or Princes Street would be ideal as those are the areas I know best. I'll leave the choice of pub up to you guys because while I can visualise the areas perfectly the names of all the pubs escape me and saying "I'd like to meet in that pub on the High Street where I ate Sunday lunch when I was on my honeymoon" wouldn't really help (it was a damn fine pub though, I'll find out if Mrs. D remembers which one it was).

fords knows Edinburgh pubs better than I do. We always meet in the Standing Order so by the time we make it to another pub I'm usually having trouble reading the name over the door.
