h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi,

By some strange chain of events I'm travelling to the Outer Hebridies overland. (I can't afford to fly so please don't suggest tha) But it involves waiting in Inverness from 8.30 am to 2pm.

Anyone got any ideas for ways to pass the time when the pubs won't be open..

The shops in Inverness are good. And if you have transport, you could take a trip out to the Loch Ness visitor centre

Hi Z, you are spoilt for things to do.

2. Culloden Field - 20 mins east. No explanation necessary here http://www.rampantscotland.com/visit/blvisit_wl_culloden.htm

3. Fort George - 20 mins North East built after the '45. http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/nairn/fortgeorge/

You can just about do Fort George and Culloden in a morning if you don't dilly dally, shilly shally etc .

Ooh thanks, that's looks intresting! Not sure if I'll be able to get to them without a car, but I'll be able to find out when I get their. Assuming I actually get some sleep on the sleeper, and dont' spend all night panicking that I'm on the wrong half of it and that I'll wake up in Aberdeen!
