No need to throw a strop when my computer's Blasted, his professionalism has surely slipped...

Mister Matty Posted Nov 17, 2003
Do we have a new date for this postponed housewarming, then?
Housewarming!
fords - number 1 all over heaven Posted Nov 18, 2003
It's going to have to be a Friday, or around 8.30 on a Saturday...

Are you going to have a special guest to officially open the event?
I would love Douglas Henshall to be there. Anybody got his number?
Or will you just use Dr EV to be the special guest?!

"It's going to have to be a Friday, or around 8.30 on a Saturday..."
Dare I suggest the coming Friday or around 8.30 on the coming Saturday?
Ooh, the tension is making me go dead.

"It's going to have to be a Friday, or around 8.30 on a Saturday..."
er???
Or did you mean an ALIEN Saturday?
Housewarming!

"I would love Douglas Henshall to be there."
What is Douglas Henshall? Is he warm-blooded? Can he do the body-popping?!
I can do both. Except the last one.

Well, since as usual it looks like I'm going to have to poke people into organisation I suggest this Friday evening. fords has the last word, of course.

this friday's out, i'm afraid. not very convenient - i'd say the friday after but the glasgow meet's the day after. dunno how people'd feel about getting drunk 2 nights in a row...?

Mister Matty Posted Nov 19, 2003
Dunno, next Friday might work. But then I don't go in for getting rat-a**ed at the drop of a hat.

Okay, here's more constructive ideas than the above posting (I must try and stop posting at ungodly hours when I tend to talk s**t) and also whilst I am in an organising mood (see St Andrews meet thread, or my working life generally).
Everyone going meets up in Edinburgh this Saturday evening and drinks in a pub until fords finishes work at the station and joins us then we all bugger off to her place.
Next Friday (this might be problematic for reasons mentioned in a thread above)
The Friday after that. Or the Saturday after that if fords gets someone to fill in for her.
There we go, not so difficult. Now, world peace...

Next Saturday is the St.Andrews meet, so why not just postpone fords' housewarming party til a more suitable date has cleared on most people's agenda?
I'm not available for tomorrow night, and if my memory serves me correct, neither is EV.
Fridays in general would be problematic in itself since work and the like would prevent people working in Glasgow (or further West) to get to Edinburgh until late in the evening, which cuts our Effective Drinking Time, which isn't good. Gotta think of the EDT, you know.
Then of course, that's just my ramblings at8.30 in the morning, and I haven't really woken up yet. Too many squashed frogs last night at the pub....

How about we wait til after the New Year? Or, if you lot haven't already got something planned for Hogmanay, we could always have a triple party?
Housewarming!
Demon Drawer Posted Nov 21, 2003

"Or, if you lot haven't already got something planned for Hogmanay, we could always have a triple party?"
Triple party?
Apart from that a hogmanay housewarming wouldn't be a bad idea, particularly as my mates are generally unreliable on the subject of New Year.
