A Conversation for Home-Schooling

Homeschooling

Post 1

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

Although I don't homeschool my child, I do know a family with 6 children, all of whom were (and are being) homeschooled in the UK.

They are all well adjusted children, ranging from 9-22 years. There are different levels of intelligence, so far as I can see, but they are all well equipped for the world. However, it has to be said that their parents are rather remarkable people, with extraordinary dedication and wideranging talents.

They are supported by an organisation called 'Education Otherwise' also known as EO. They get together with other EO parents and children for trips and camps and shared learning. Most of the parents are on very low incomes and I would be surprised if many have access to computer learning.

You might want to include something about EO or its American equivalent (if there is one).

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
