I'm really sorry. Perhaps it's just a case of talking about one form of dream interpretation, where that way of looking at it has come from etc, seeing as there are so many ways of interpreting.

I'm not really here Posted Nov 4, 2005
I did make some comments, but they weren't addressed either in the entry, or this review thread, so it didn't seem worth making any more.

So what you're saying, Kat, is that I should point out that this is one way of interpreting dreams (which I think I have), or make the entry huge by giving out more main ways of interpreting, that I don't really know anything about?
Maybe I should change the name to Dream Interpretation, One Way of Going About It.

I think this is a valid idea for an article. Perhaps a little more on Egyptian/history of dream interpretation, some other author's ideas etc. to round it out a bit more.
Umm - just to be a pedant, but it would be really good if you put it through a spell checker (e.g. Pharaoh).
Although you'll find a lot of sceptics on this site, many people find such things and techniques useful and interesting. Many people keep dream diaries as they are hilarious (well that's one of the reasons I kept mine ...). Dream interpretation is a useful tool to self understanding ... didn't Aristotle say "the unexamined life is not worth living"?? Well, this is just another method of examining your "life", "being", "spirit", "mental processes" or whatever term is comfortable to you.
Here endeth the second lesson.

Thanks, EMR and Saint Fran. I'll change the title. I was aiming for a friendly, short guide to working out your dreams, and not trying to go into the whole history/science part. That's not what I wrote it for, as St. Francesca may well know...

Well, yes. As this is a site on Life, the Universe and Everything, dream interpretation could be put under any or all of those categories.
There's lots of interest, just look at that dream thread we "met" on, so go mad. Write a jolly good article.
Lotsa luck

Just a point to help you through the PR process:
Try to avoid even the subtle first-person references, like:
[Lucid Dreams- after spending some time working on your dreams, you may be able to control yourself in the capacity of a dream. It may have happened to you before, when you knew you were dreaming, and felt awake within your dreams. This is a technique that can be developed in time, but has not been thoroughly researched, to the best of my knowledge.]
It's '... the best of my knowledge.' that might cause you trouble.
Perhaps [...; but, apparently, has not been thoroughly researched]
would do?

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
