When I was one, I was very excited as well 
I had exactly 42 EG entries after that year, a carton of badges and I felt like I had helped... that's one of the best feelings of all - to feel equal in a world that you were only recently a blip in.
I too woke up earlier to be able to do some scouting and posting. Now I've mellowed a bit, but it's such a marvellous thing when someone (IE you, EMR) keeps her energy and devotion to the site when she's no longer a newbie.
May you never lose that vim and vitality! 
May your enthusiasm only grow with the years to come. Viva Hootoo!
