The Language of Cars

A group of five Englishmen in an Audi Quattro were on holiday in the Mediterranean when they came to the Italian border. A guard stopped them and approached the driver.
"I'm sorry, sir," the guard said "but you cannot enter our country."
"Why not?" asked the English driver.
"Italian law is very strict. There are five of you in a Quattro. Quattro means four. Therefore, there should only be four of you in the car."
"What are you talking about? That is the name of the car. It does not refer to how many passengers are allowed inside. Let me speak with your supervisor!" said the indignant Englishman.
"I'm very sorry, sir," replied the border guard. "But he's busy. He's dealing with two people in a Fiat Uno."
