Topic of the Week: Applying to University
Frankie Roberto Started conversation Jul 5, 2001
I think this would make a good topic of the week considering the large student population on h2g2. It should appear sometime between the beginning of September and end of October, as this is when most University Applications are sent in.
The topic is about the painful process of applying to University. Which course should you go on? Which Univeristy? A green-field university or one situated in the city? Stay at home or move away?
And most importantly, advice on /writing your personal statement/ (a passage about yourself to be included on the UCAS application form). How do you sell yourself? What should you mention? What are they looking for?
This is a big thing that many students will be going through next september, and many people will have been through it before. I think it would make a good topic.
