Thank goodness I thought to bring this along...nothing like relaxing in a hammock on a lazy day *grin*

*strings it up between two trees*

The worst thing about hammocks is trying to get into them...once you're in it's fantastic, but getting there takes a lot of work...

Hiya Cafram,

How's your day going?

I think it was about a year ago when I was at the birthday party of Kheldar. There I met Towelmaster too.
Since they were so enthousiastic I decided to have a look. They made me a researcher in a sort of way.

How did you end up on this site?

It's 22:55 here, and seeing as I've been up since 4:30 I'll be leaving for bed soon - I'm so glad it's the weekend and I can sleep in!

Well I found the H2G2 site about a year ago, registered and then didn't get into it very much, then a couple of months ago I found a link back to it and re-joined. It's really the only website I have ever found (other than email sites perhaps) that I visit each and every day. There's always something different going on, always something interesting.

How about you Cafram.

To tell you the truth, I am not every on H2G2. It has happened that I wasn't online for weeks.
The last meet in London gave me real boost and this experience of course.

I found the site in June of 1999...I joined and hung around for a while, then kept getting sidetracked by RL...I've had lots of periods of absence, but I still love it - I can spend days at a time here and not feel like I'm missing out on anything 'real' - it's the perfect mix of technology, community, and creativity.

I've just felt that the feel of this site is so different from the usual run-of-the-mill internet discussion forum.

No people expecting newbies to instantly know what they're doing and the welcome from either a Guardian Angel or an ACE is brilliant.

Yes I agree, it is just fine that you take your time to find your way around on this site.

What are you guys doing in RL?
I am an systemadministrator in a small company, in my spare time I surf the web, play snooker and play darts.

I agree - everyone is so helpful and caring - on the whole it's such a supportive, friendly place to be, where everyone is allowed to be who they want to be - here you can truly create yourself in any shape or form.

And, of course, it's heaps of fun *grin*

When I'm not whiling away the hours on h2g2, I'm a student, although on holidays at the moment *grin*, and I work every weekday morning from 5:30-9am handing out a free newspaper in the city...sounds horrible, I know, but I really like it - I've met so many people, and found that just by saying "Good morning" and making eye contact with the grumpy office-workers, I can put a smile on their face, and make myself feel good too...and the pay's not half bad...*wink*

Well, it's almost midnight here, so I'd best be off before I turn into a pumpkin, or something equally as tasteless...g'night!
