I normally only comment on punctuation and spelling when (1) I can't see anything else wrong and (2) it doesn't look like there are going to be any major changes.
Sorry GB, this is a general discussion about PR. It shouldn't really be taking place here.

A5769985 - HRH Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales. (for the Scouts)
I would rather you hold the discussion here, where I can read it (rather than scout group email or sub-ed group email if there is such a thing) and learn how to improve my entries (I'm always learning, the day I know it all, I expect to drop dead).
I don't object - it makes fascinating reading and I don't mind reading the different sub-eds style, even what Scouts look for.
Have you noticed I post <> (for the Scouts)>> every 20 posts, (or try to) I picked that up from something someone mentioned in PR once. It certainly helps me.
It's always good to get feedback on your work, at least you know it's being read, and I like to see changes noted by the author as well

In the early days of PR, I always used to put the A number of the entry in post 21, 41 etc as well. Not so much for the benefit of the scouts as for my own benefit when I wanted to change the entry. Nowadays I keep links on my personal space to the entries I'm working on. But I probably should start doing it again for the scouts.

I would do it if I ever remembered. And when you're scouting it's certainly nice to have the links.

It's not just for the Scouts you know - it's for everyone in the thread whether they be Scouts, PR regulars, the author or someone just dropping by.

Re post 26, by Demon Drawer:
"Might be worth mentioning that The Old Man of Lochnagar was illustrated by paitingins by the Prince as well as the writing"
According to Amazon, http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0140544143/202-0484308-6610256
The Old Man of Lochnagar - Sir Hugh Casson (Illustrator)
Can you give me your source, DD?

Update so far:
Added a brief introduction to the man, rather than start with his birth.
Elaborated on his love of the Goons, linked to the edited entries on the Goons and Spike Milligan.
Explained the dislike of anyone sitting on the bonnet of his car, for those who didn't know...
Added today's link from BBC News...

'During his second year at Cambridge he trained to be a pilot, receiving flying instruction from the RAF'.
Does this mean he was a member of the University Air Squadron? If he was, perhaps this should be mentioned.

Prince Charles once performed an impromptu dance - in front of the assembled media - in a dole-office line-up reminiscent of a famous scene from the Oscar-winning smash-hit British film The Full Monty.
Also added the fact that Bob Geldof changed the line-up of Live Aid so he could perform "I Don't Like Mondays" for them before they had to leave.

University Air Squadron - never heard of that.
*from the backlog*
By the way should I use the word "repatriate" in reference to Charles collecting Diana's body and escorting her on the journey from Paris? It really was unprescedented, it should have been her brother doing that job.
Can anyone clarify that please?

I was trying to find out whether he rec'd flying training through the Cambriodge University Air Squadron. No luck so far. This is what one site says (so you could possibly expand yours slightly):
'Military career: Learnt to fly jet aircraft at RAF College at Cranwell in 1971 and earned RAF wings'.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
