A Conversation for Astral Projection
Astral Projection? Hmmm.

I've had a few "out of body" experiences, very much like those describe by "astral travelers" and -- fascinating as they were -- can't say they convinced me of the truth of Astral Travel. I think it's just another state well-described elsewhere as 'theta state', or reverie. In the early 19th Century in America there was a fashion for paintings of towns made from a high vantage point that was not obtainable by any readily available hills, trees or mechanical devices. These views, which some might like to ascribe to AT, were a straight translation in the artists mind from one pov to another. There is no case made here for AT being real, merely for the imagination being a powerful tool. But for a pleasant piece of fantasy about it, I recommend reading "The Ka of Gifford Hillary" by some author whose name I forget.

I haven't read the book, but I did a quick internet search on it. The author is Dennis Wheatley.

Merci. I warn you, it is a trashy sort of book... great to read on a rail or train journey.
