Good to see you Fenny - if you want to test your psychic powers there is an online test at the Koestler Parapsychology Unit which is at the University of Edinburgh. The test didn't operate properly for me but that might be because of the internet connection I'm using (cable rather than modem, that is). I'd be interested to know if it does operate as it should with a modem.

Do you mean the ESP test with the three cards (two crosses and a circle?).
Worked fine for me over a cable connection. Didn't prove that I was psychic however.. Way it was presented seemed rather strange tho. Letting people change their minds after the first card is shown makes it into a 'Monty Hall' type problem, so, assuming you change your mind every time, you've got a 2/3 chance of being right. It's not clear whether they are taking this into account in their figures (although I'm sure they are..)

Inever really saw what the test was - it went immediately to giving me a score without me doing anything. I had assumed at the time it was set up for modem and I was on cable at the time. I'll try it again and let you know.

I just went back there - it wasn't the card thing. Again didn't have a chance to figure out what it was I was supposed to do before it gave me a score. Then it gave me another score while i was trying to find my way out of the site. I really don't think thye are going to prove anything with this.
BTW - I'm on a modem this time.

It's worth pointing out that online tests like those can only test for precognition, not for telepathy on clairvoyance. Telepathy assumes that someone else out there knows the answers and can mentally "transmit" them to you -- in an online test, only the computer knows the answers, and depending on the program, may not even determine the answers until after you guess. Clairvoyance assumes that the answers are visible somewhere -- when using real life cards, the images are present in the world, just no visible to the physical eye -- in an online test, they aren't visible anywhere.
