http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A573644 Herein lies another saved-up travel article. This one's about a little Louisiana Gulf Coast town that's worth an afternoon visit, especially if you like to catch fish, eat fish, or learn about places where fish live. This article went to Writer's Workshop, at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F57153?thread=120053&post=1084694#p1084694 .

I like it. I think the guide needs plenty of entries like this, which provide useful information with a personal perspective. I can't really see any problems with this. Good job.

I really like this article. The information on the coastline is interesting and the length and balance of the article are just right.
There are two points where I think a little extra information would help: first, you describe it as the 'town' of Cocodrie. This can cover quite a variety of size, depending on what country you're in, so I think that a mention of the population would be a help - perhaps in the section about visiting Cocodrie.
I think a footnote about Louisiana Parishes might also be a good idea. In many countries a Parish is only a church district - I seem to remember a reference that in Lousisiana it is an official division of local government. It is used instead of the counties in other U.S. states?

I'll see what I can do about population figures. It seems Cocodrie is too small to make the U.S. Census; I'd estimate its population at 500 or less.
And yes, in Louisiana a Parish is the equivalent of a county.
Now With New Improved LUMCON!
Administrator-General (5+0+9)*3+0 Posted Jun 26, 2001
It seems LUMCON, my main source of maritime data about Louisiana, changed its URL since I first wrote the entry. Resultingly, the Guide shut my entry down for a while. But we're all back online now. My apologies for any inconvenience.

Those changes are very nicely done, Adminstrator-General. I know some people just bleep over any figures, but for me that 'around 300' population number gives an instant grasp of how small a place Cocodrie is.
I think it would make an excellent Edited Entry. Great work!

Nice Entry.
It has been said before: The Guide needs more of those 'localized' Entries. I like it, and I hope it will go into the Guide.
