it looks as though I might make it on 13/14 October
arrive on 13th - possibly going to a play with my friend. She has to work, so probably I'd mooch around on 14th in the morning and aim to leave in the afternoon
How would you feel about doing lunch or something? If it all comes of (of course, it's down to persuading my Aged Parents to look after the Gruesome Twosome for 2 days, and getting the dosh together for the train/bus)
But it's not unfeasable at the mo.

I only know that from Monopoly. I am a complete, open mouthed, yokel when I get to London.
Right, pencil me in and I'll let you know.

The Strand runs from Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross past Aldwych, then on to Fleet Street, parallel to The Thames, and passing by Covent Garden.
Oh, look, it's here:

it's all just little pictures with red stripes on the top to me!!!
(even though I actually lived in Knightsbridge at one point, and stayed in Chelsea Barracks for some months once)
Trafalgar Square I've heard of isn't there a rather interesting art gallery there?

ah yes, I see it: the National Portrait Gallery.
Right, I'll float the idea past the gruesomes that I want to meet an internet person... they'll hang on to my legs in case I end up in hospital again, but I think I should be ok for a jolly to London.
gawd knows, I need a break!

National Gallery, and NPG, indeed.
Unfortunately, you'll have missed "Stubbs and the horse", but I'm sure there'll be something else on...
There's also Nelson's umm, thingy.

Don't book a table yet... today I heard I'm off to Korea for a week, right after I get back from UK. Probably I will have to leave UK one day earlier than planned - which will scupper any plans I have for a Jolly to The Smoke.
Watch this space.
Oh, and to get on topic.... what happens if you all get the same number of votes? Rainbow coalition? Jamaica Coalition? Traffic Light coaliation?
Or will you all slug it out in a ring full of jello? (I'd vote for that)

yep, Korea looks like it's on. (about as certain as anything is until it happens, with a Korean company - which means the dates will be changed 15 times between now and then.)
I'm due to fly out on 15th Oct, which is the day I'm supposed to leave UK, so I've got to cut my jolly short by 2 days so I can make it to the airport in time.
Bit grumpy about missing out on seeing my parents (they will be on holiday when I get there) but a trip to Korea is not to be sniffed at. I love it there.
So, we'll have to do our lunch next October when I get over again.
