Tentacle Hentai and it's relationship to teen smoking and pregnancy
People are dying. People are suffering. People are being tortured by odd cultural dictates and free-reigning dictators.
The world, as a group of people, is in trouble on a daily basis.
When a momentous event occurs, where it is evident that
help is needed right now, people jump to help other people,
even strangers and enemies.
They jump to risk their lives and their pocketbooks to
help people they wouldn't have given a second thought
two weeks ago.
It's nice to have a common cause to bring us all together,
isn't it?
So why isn't Amnesty International floating in money and
volunteers?
Why isn't the Simon Weisenthal Center for Tolerance more
famous than Bono?
Because tedium produces disinterest.
People will spring to to help right now, for a little while.
Then they will recouperate until the next crisis.
But those things that don't seem to have a solution,
where no amount of money or activity seems to have an effect,
they fall below the radar until something more momentous
than the daily boring horrors creates a media-grabbing
blip.
Look around you.
Charity begins at home.
Someone near you or someone you've never heard of needs a miracle
today.
Instead of institutional and collective revenge or action
long after they are dead.
Don't wait for a crisis to loom. Find a small one and deal with
it.
Today.
