A Conversation for Talking Point: Value For Money?
Water

I HATE being charged for water in restaurants.
I'm quite happy to drink tap water with my meal.
I also hate being charged extortionate amounts for water from ice cream vans and the like in the countryside.
I remember paying £1 or more for a tiny bottle that was the same brand that Aldi sell (6 for £1 or less).

I hate the amount we pay for water full stop!
You have no choice of suplier and they can charge what they like near enough. There is discussion about making us all have water meters. I can hear you saying "That's fair everyone paying for what they use.", but, a little clause, if this results in the water company loosing revenue (because the customers save water) then they will be able to up the charges to bring them back into profit.
In fact they have less insentive to be efficient than the old Water Boards. If they are in danger of not making a profit they can up the charges and we have no option but pay.
Oh and before I forget. If they are not able to supply sufficient water do we get a rebate? No - they still charge us but restrict how much we can have.

I don't know why they can't just let you decide if you can have water from the tap for free or pay for bottled water.
