Excellant posting, but now i don't know where to start. It was questioned whether it would be ethical for a couple to have a child on the way there (or once arrived) thus condemning the child never to see Earth again. It is unlikely any child would be born on the way there due to the risks of space travel. Once there i don't think it would be unethical any more than a couple would be for leaving their homeland for another country, having a child and so denying their child a chance to see their homeland.
I think wars over the moon or mars are unlikely as there would have to be a largee enough population to require competition over resources while the moon is smaller i believe it would take several hundred thousand people for conflicts to arise over minerals. The only likely exception is if water is discovered at the poles - it would be so valuable and raRE that the first group to lay claim on it would have a powerful advantage over the rest of the lunar (or indeed martian if at mars) population
