I did wonder - and this is more of a question than a thought out proposal - whether there should be one Writing Workshop for both Edited Guide and AWW pieces.
Writers could get comment on content and style, and be guided to either EG or AWW depending on which set of requirements the piece fits.
Glad to discuss.

I'm not too keen on the idea of pieces going into PR or the AWW on the basis of which will take them - pieces should ideally be written with one or the other in mind. Also, the AWW is a workshop in itself, and it takes a while to get pieces picked from it as it is.

Perhaps we need a WPB?
But you're right that one of the problems of the AWW is that writers can refine their pieces and they still don't get selected.

Actually, I think that's a good idea.
There seems to be this idea in PR that after a certain time, you're obligated to pick an entry no matter whether it's actually a *good* one rather than one that will do. A problem that could only be solved if we had more Entries in PR...
...which would also lead to less time spent on individual entries, so they wouldn't get polished so much. A problem.
