It seems unfair to say that the Game Gear flopped and died.
Growing up in Minnesota the Game Gear was almost as prevalent with the kids as the game boy was. Quite similer to the relationship between the number of SNES and Genesis owners there were. I remember there was a family restaurant chain that would give kids GGs to play with while they waited for their food...Denny's or Perkins maybe?
