I'd only have $645,000. Because the Ladies' million dollars would be Canadian currency, and I'm in the States.
I'm in New Jersey, but I do travel into Canada on a somewhat regular basis (usually going to a baseball or hockey game), and so I had heard of BNL before a lot of folks here did. But that's about all ... I had heard of them. Then, of course, "One Week" came out. All it did was spend one week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's currently No. 86 on my list of favorite songs of all time.
Wasn't a concert by the Ladies the first event to take place at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto when it opened in early 1998? Or was that The Tragically Hip? No, wait, the Hip were coming to the Corel Centre in Ottawa sometime in December ... I get mixed up easily.
