HHGTTG on radio \ TV as a tribute

Does anyone know if the BBC are planning to air either the radion series on radio or the TV series on (err, I guess) TV? They could, as an experiment, air them the other way around of course!

There was a radio documentary about HHGTTG aired some time ago - that could be broadcast again - please.

Please let me know either through this forum or you can e-mail me at [email protected]

Many thanks

Douglas, your genius will live on.

(Although I am concerned about what Disney are going to do to 'The Guide' - I cannot imagine a 'Hollywood' version working at all. Do the Americans understand that HHGTTG is not just a story, it is an entire work of philosophical genius!)

HHGTTG is not just a story, it is an entire work of philosophical genius!

Ever since I was a small boy listening to HHGTTG on a crystal set in my bed in a doramtory of 40 + sleeping boys (Who knew little of the guide) I have considered it a great work or art.

I have always thought of it as a work of genius. Philosophical or not.

When can we expect to see and hear such a work of art again!???

Disney is sure to mess with this.. I urge you to read and listen again once more before the whole world gets corrupted by Disney's version!

Be ready to correct the unknown and pacify the excited!!!
They WILL Exist after the "movie" is released.

Let's hope that it takes 500 years to make and that we can still enjoy the un-commercialised and pure genius of the MAN himself before we die and life un corrupted!!

Power to the Guide as we know it!!

I am in Singapore where the guide appears to be known only to the few.
Can we hear it at least online somewhere??? Please before it's too late??????????????

H.....

I can only assure you that we Americans understand the complete totality of HHGTTG...If you've read past the first chapter in the first book, then chances are you see it as more than just a campy sci-fi novel...So, for it to be popular here in America must mean that we 'get it.'

Now, as for Disney? They're not Americans. In fact, one could argue their human qualities. I can only hope that Jay Roach had enough discussions with Adams over the past 5 or so years to know what it is that he wants. He has enough pull to get the movie made the way he wants it. Let's just hope his way is Adams' way...

Roundley The Terminator

And will the PC game version ever be released as a multi-player interactive Internet game in which all players can live out the H2G2 life to which we so ardently aspire?

I do like the idea of broadcasting the radio version on the TV, and the TV version on the radio--play with people's minds, it helps.

:o)
