HHGTG saw me through some late evenings in my 20s and I know it changed forever the way some of my students wrote. It changed parts of my vocabulary and delivery. This may all sound commonplace but not many writers have affected me directly in any way at all. He made me reconsider why I like tea and the role of viking gods in daily life. He was a good man.
