Goodbye to Douglas Adams from M.I.T.
Researcher 174098 Started conversation May 14, 2001
We, here at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, are mourning Douglas Adams's passing. He was here just last November, to speak about "Last Chance to See", and he told us about his miraculous plans for the future: more books, a movie, and many other things. He concluded the speech describing how people should more frequently look around themselves and see if the world was created for them, or they were created to suit the world.
Alas, Mr. Adams was stopped short of completing his many wonderful plans. But the myriad of work he has done, his bright legacy, will be with the world forever - and we would like to thank him for that.
Long live Researcher 42.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
