Dear Pit,

I am a mother of five, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of two. A is always acceptable. !

However, you will understand if I do not want to "waste" my precious time left to me by explaining cricket. !! I used to love watching it when the children were young, but now have other more important things to do. Is that all that you know about me.?

I am a political animal, and am also a phenomenologist.I went to University when I was 42 -there is that figure again!! - and gained a Masters degree -cum laude in the sociology of Law. My thesis is in both the British Library and in the Library of Congress, so you can imagine that it was definitely political.

All my research has been added to the Alfred Schutz Centre for Phenomenological Research at Waseda University in Tokyo. This was a great honour which was accorded me last year.

I am a social researcher, and at the moment am very concerned and involved with social research about and with sufferers with mental health problems.

If you go to my home page you may find other things. I am fast approaching the end of human lifespan, am confined to a wheelchair, but fortunately, for a few hours a day have (I think!) enough of my good sense left in me, to still make, I hope, a contribution to this wonderful website.

So if you have the time to write to a great grandmother who refuses to accept that her life is over - until it is!! - I would be very happy to write to you. I could write about tennis, rugby, swimming, athletics, but of cricket, although I love to watch it, I know very little. !!

Both my parents were French, French was my first language, and I was born and brought up in South Africa and Zimbabwe slthough |I have lived in England since the early nineties.
