Entry: VAT (Value Added Tax) - A528040
Author: TheAardvark - U170540
The creator has Elvised, but according to a conversation on his/her PS s/he was thinking about submitting it. And it does offer more detail than the non-specific A352487. I'm not sure whether it's detailed enough for the EG, but I've submitted it on the basis that it's worth a look.
I don't know whether it's still up to date, though, so someone else would have to confirm that.

This has a lot of potential, but needs enough work done on it that I don't think it can get through PR as it is, since there's no-one to make the necessary changes. Have you thought about taking it on yourself, as editor (and crediting The Aardvark), and then submitting it?

VAT law
Put it this way: the entry whilst it has merit, is as about compehensive on the subject of VAT as the famous entry "Mostly harmless" was about the Earth in the original guide.

VAT officials I feel more strongly about them than I do about traffic wardens I can still remember my VAT number from 20 years ago, just the way that my dad could always remember his army number.
There's certainly no need for a comprehensive entry about VAT, but as an overview this is a good start, and I think we should have something about VAT in the EG.

looks accurate enough to me but I haven't worked for C&E since 1995
oddly enough C&E only got to run VAT (which is now their largest responsibility) because the Inland Revenue wanted nothing to do with it

I'll be honest - it's a bit boring.
Really you should make a copy (crediting the author) and submit the copy to PR - otherwise you won't be able to make any changes to it.

Well, I myself am certainly not qualified to write an Entry on taxation.
Removal or Flea Market?

You might not need to - some other people might come up with enough info to make a decent entry, but it might as well go into Flea Market rather than just hanging around doing nothing.
I'm not sure of the policy on FM for entries that were put into PR by others.

Well, as I said, I'm not qualified to write on tax, so either someone else uses a copy as the basis for an Entry or it just gets abandoned.
I'll leave it in PR for a short while and see how the consensus goes with respect to the Flea Market; if it doesn't get sent down there it can be removed from PR.

Whether or not anyone comes up with enough information to make it pickable, it can't be worked on as it stands, and it's my opinion that the amount of work needed is far more than should be given to a Sub.
I reckon it should go to the Flea Market

Seconded, thirded, whatevered
Who's got the list? And if you submitted it, can you take it out? I've never submitted someone else's work before.

RJFS submitted it, and I believe that he can aslo remove it. Once he's removed it anyone can submit it to the Flea Market as soon as the servers update their cache and the Submit entry reappears on the entry There shouldn't be a need to bother the Italics with this one
