The Pauly Shore View of California

I personally prefer the early 90s, Pauly Shore movie view of California. A land of 7-11's and water parks, covered by towns with names like "Encino" and "Sunny Valley," populated with surfers, skaters, good natured punks, bikini babes, righteous dudes, girls with names like Muffy and Candy, and the occasional bully. Life is carefree there, and the weather is always a sunny 72 degrees with a slight breeze from the northwest. Grunge is becoming the fashion, but the clunky neon of the late 80s is still acceptable, nay encouraged. The only conflict that exists is between overbearing parents and their happy-go-lucky offspring. The beach is always inviting, the fun park is always open, and the slurpees are always extra cold.
If you could go into any movie to live out the rest of your life, some would go back to midevil Japan, the world of Kurasawa. Others would travel space with Captain Kirk, or go to the small French village of Chocolat. Me, I'd choose to spend the rest of my days in San Dimas with Bill and Ted.
