Confusing Manifestation Posted Nov 23, 2001
I think the numbering idea is a good one, and it also allows additional comments without confusing people. So, if you contribute a line, try and remember to put a number in front of it corresponding to the line in the song it is. The "hai-di-dai-di"s are for when you hit 8 and restart numbering. So, for example the h2g2 IDS would have gone something like this:
Hai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai!
1. Oh, I'm with h-2-g-2,
2. Singing, drinking, reading words,
3. Avoiding w**k and having fun,
4. It really is absurd!
5. The way our minds all work together,
6. It really is a shock,
7. This song will go on forever,
8. Or 'til we run amok!
Hai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai!
1. The research is untruthful,
2. It makes you want to puke,
3. The true stuff is unhelpful,
4. Unless your name is Duke!
5. This fourth verse will be useless,
6. Complete and utter trash,
7. But just 'cause it's the last one,
8. This song is in distress!
Oh, hai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-daiii-diiii-daiii-diii-daiiiiiiiiiii!
And because I think we're between verses (probably) and we've pretty much lost the plot anyway, I'm going to suggest the next topic and someone else can start the song with line 1. After this, whoever provides the last line can give us a new topic.
OK, here we go with the "Things I hate(d) about School" Irish Drinking Song ...
Ohhhhhhhhh, Hai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai-di-dai!

6 We hadn't studied for,
FYI: A prefect is a position senior students are elected to so that they can help out around the school. Normally prefects organise things like fĂȘtes or special days, and they're also their as role models for the rest of the school.
