I assume copyright of Edited Entries lies with h2g2, since they've been Edited? It's not that I want to copy them, but I feel I ought to know and I don't.

There are two copyrights. One lies with the BBC, and is the standard copyright. The other is a joint copyright shared between everyone who's contributed words to the entry: sub-editor, researcher(s), and the in-house editor who gave it the final thumbs up. To take advantage of the latter you would have to get consent from all these people, so normally, for all practical purposes, the BBC has sole copyright.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
