L33T Speak.

Hi again! smiley - smiley
I'd like to know why one of my 'L33t Speak' postings was moderated, despite it being as closely identical as possible to the previous posting? This fact was clearly pointed out in the message's subject.
L33T Speak is /not/ a foriegn language, and most words can be worked out by thinking about them for a few minutes. For example.
|)1Z 1Z L33T. j00 |=0LL0w |*L4Y37 TW0?
Which directly translates as:
'This is L33T. You follow Player two?'
In other words:
'This is the language of L33T. Do you understand?'
I hope this will help to clarify the situation to you. If you still don't get it, I'll just keep posting translations. smiley - winkeye

I think you'll find leet in pure-leet speak is 1337. Interestingly in pure-leet elite = 31337 which is prime.

Your posts were probably moderated under the foreign languages section of the House Rules.

I think actually you'll find the first people to replace letters with numbers were Script Kiddies who did it because they thought it made them look like cool "haX0rs". Then, with the rise of internet / multiplayer gaming, this strange method of conversing was transferred.
There *is* no correct leet-speak. However, generally the more letters you can replace the more leet you are smiley - smiley

Ah. I learned L33T Speak from http://www.megatokyo.com where Largo, the Quake fanatic, uses it. Plus it's a little easier to understand so 73L4X, \/17G1L |-|4Z |\|0 |=74G |*0W4 0|\| |]4 |\|3T... Y3T. j00 |]1G?

To quote from (the unofficial) A678558 :

> "Codes count as other languages, except for very simple codes which have either an obvious decoding method, or have decoding instructions in the same post. Do not use them, as h2g2 almost certainly will never support them, even in the most idyllic of future blue skies worlds."

I would expect that your script-kiddie speak was sufficiently obscure that the moderator wasn't sure of its meaning and hence referred it. If you yikes it (or the post immediately above), you should be able to get it sorted out.
