Well people do a lot other than those things. Try using the search/directory options (Life, The Universe, Everything) above to find topics that interest you. Start conversations about them, people might join in.

Yes, we do lots else. Check out http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Peerreview to see the entries that Researchers have written about and that they'd like you to read and discuss with them, see the conversations at the bottom of the page.
Also there is a scavenger hunt going on at the moment. Click on the Talk button in the toolbar, and look down to the section marked Abi's activities. You'll see the hunt, plus lots of other places to visit.
