Viddy well my brothers... an entry about one of more distinctive bars in the East Village of New York. Comments and feedback appreciated.
Yours,

A good, if scary, article. I don't see why this shouldn't be approved.

I don't know whether you're allowed to quote a huge chunk out of the book like that. I'm sure the H2G2 copyright lawyers will sort it out.

Hi-
An interesting article about a seemingly interesting place.... I found myself wanting to know more about it.
For example, could you describe the decor and the atmosphere a bit more; evoke the ambiance of the place more clearly? Who tends to go there? What's the neighborhood like? Aside from borrowing its name etc. from C.O., what makes this place so disturbing? Presumably that's also what makes it interesting.
Just my 0.02
cheers-
Ariel (a former New Yorker)

A fine entry. A little touching up and it should even pass by the strict H2G2 editerrorists.
You must remember, though, that some clumsy cyber hitchhiker might very well click into the entry looking for a bar in the big apple, having never read the book nor seen the movie. Starting the last paragraph with 'unlike the book ...' is therefore a little clumsy.
Something like 'In the book, the K. serves only milkshakes and drugs...'(or whatever it was) and then go on with the "unlike ..." bit would be better.
Perhaps it might be better to have a shorter quote from Burgess and a little more intro on what the book described (both the Milkbar and the society at large.)

Thanks,
I need to look over some of the comments and perhaps remove the Burgess quote (it's so nice though), but I'll clean it up. It's just the first entry in my attempt to cover various bars of New York (not all will probably be put in the edited guide). Because, what's the point of the guide if it can't tell you where to get drunk?
Yours,
Jake
