I would like to take the 11 points that the President (who was elected by a very thin margin of 2 votes) has listed above.
1. There are more entries involving subtle references to sex in The Guide.
This is because under his leadership the guide has become subject to a degree of state moderation, he has falied in his election promise to create a free flowing exchange of ideas regardless of background. So much for a promised free press.
2. There are less articles being written for The Post.
This is a actual lie, there are more being written and no longer is the editor e-mailing me at the last minute to come up with something good.
3. h2g2 seems to have lost/got rid of its advertising sponsors. This may or may not be a good thing.
Probably a good thing some of the old adverts were totally distracting.
4. There are more researchers contributing to The Guide from the Third World.
This is insulting to those in the developing world by classing them as third class especially as I challenge the President to define 'Second World'. BTW you can take any sociop-economic, or cultural group you like and you will find more researchers from there than the date he squeaked home as President, it's called growth and is by word of mouth and the sad demise of our Nations Founding Father Douglas Noel Adams. RIP.
5.There are a lot more smileys on h2g2.
Yeah and some of the researchers are now more confused than ever over how to get these. It is now an essential part of ACEing to explain the smilies.
6. There are more Ministers in my cabinet.
Considering that when he was elected he was in shock, and hadn't even purchased the wood to built said piece of furniture this comes as no surprise.
7. The United States have finally decided who their next President is going to be. I think we can safely conclude that the residents of h2g2 have a lot more common sense than the residents of the USA.
I concur to the President on this point. Although we are still debating the elligibilty of 3 votes which arrived in the last hours of the count.
8. I have started the ParanoiaPost, my latest h2g2 hobby, which is the first parody of The Post...
Earlier he complained about the lack (or so he claimed) of articles for the post. Now he is parodying it. Is the President about to become a media tycoon like Senor Belorusconi in Italy and take the best journalists to his publication. Is this publication not an abuse of his Presidential authority.
9. The h2g2 Front Page is a lot neater, more logical and to the point.
Because a lot of what was once there now has separate pages. A very good inovation. But did HE actually campaing for it?
10. There are more subeditors helping the editors of h2g2.
There is as always a increase in the number of volunteers in all categories, he fails to mention ACEs, Gurus and Scouts, is the PResident showing Sub-centric tendancies.
11. There are less subeditors actually helping the editors of h2g2
MAybe he should take a look at his cabinet and see how many of them are involved in that. I know of a number of very industrial Subs, who not only sub articles but are also involved in peer reveiw on a regular basis. There are also a number of Subs actively seeking out additional work at the University of life.
In conclusion, what has the President actually done for the good people of h2g2. I pray that you carefully consider this fact. And remember what I promised to do for you if I had been elected in stead of him. I intend to stand against the President and his slap dash approach to the community he was elected to serve. His paranoia post is actually nothing but a propaganda rag, which ill reflects the mood of h2g2.
I am forthwith tendering my resignation form his cabinet to set up the official oppostion to the President and his Alabaster Camelot.
