thought my colourful friends would enjoy this historical link. YOu know i tried to look up maroon on the internet, i got some very very strange results indeed, womens old college web page, crime scene web page, the only relevant one i could see was an advertisement for an ink producing company, i see i am going to have to do some serious canvasing and advertising about the worthiness of maroon

hmmm, forgot about that whole moderation of links thing. well basically the article mentioned where various dyes e.t.c came form e.g purple often taken form the murex snail e.t.c i think it had a little info about who traditionally wore such colours. Hi Vic,

I've been neglecting this forum a bit latley, but am trying to get back to it now. I made a start at writing an entry on the history of purple, its at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A590168 but isn't at all finished.
