Gnomon - time to move on

Examining your own little musical theme for a signature, and using tonic solfa in the key of F as written, I get Fifi rere, which sounds rather risqué.

I'm seeing quite a few question marks in that where there should probably be dashes. Dashes should be replaced with the – or — code to avoid this problem.

I also notice 'ti' in one place and 'si' in another. Shouldn't they both be 'si'?

I can't answer your last question, Gnomon. I've exchanged the word dashes, though (those I could find).

I'm still seeing:

h2g2 entries ? for example Gnomon's

writing the notes Bflat?A?C?B

To encode her name ? Elmira ?

through to the 1920s and 30s ? she sat

represents the composer himself ? it is Misia

Those question marks are a bit of a mystery. I have used the — code throughout, but some are not being interpreted correctly, for example <<So by writing the notes B flat—A—C—B natural in the German notation (B—A—C—H)>> The second set of dashes (in the brackets) are the same as the first set, but the first set show incorrectly. GuideML glitch or am I not seeing something?

<>
Indeed they should both be . In my defence, I copy-n-pasted it from your A44196942 entry, so I guess that needs changing as well.

Ah ha! There I am studying the GuideML code and posting post 8, only to find it was changed between viewing the finished page and pulling up the GuideML 'test' page.

I had found the ones you mention, Gnomon, by using ctrl f

h5ringer, I have now downloaded your submission to be able to see what was in the original, and it was where you had not written the forum code, but put dashes where the ? appeared.

I hope I've got them all now.

Thanks Bel. Entirely my fault of course. Until last week, I was using MS Word and I automatically type the m-dash keyboard shortcut. I have now changed over to using OpenOffice and GuideDog for hootoo stuff. On this occasion I forgot to replace some of the MS Word m-dashes.

smiley - sorry Still hopefully all's well now. smiley - choc

Just the ti-si to exchange then, I guess.

Sorry I didn't realise so much was missing of your article, but I had 28 articles to upload, so I hope you'll forgive me. smiley - smiley

"ti" is the English name and "si" is the French name. I never mentioned the French system in my article, so I see no reason to change it.
