Don't forget Your Space on h2g2 is a Blog. You can put it into the web address box when using Twitter eg : http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/U197657#abme
See :- http://twitter.com/AncientBrit then click on my web link on that page.
Anyone with the know how could build an h2g2 community within Twitter.

Thought I might restart some talk on this. Especially the recent changes with H2G2 and noticing H2G2 represented on Twitter. Since h2g2 is appaently "up for sale", the more interest and integration that "we" can generate would be beneficial.
Also, as an IT person, I found Twitter to be a fun new toy/game for me. Been doing it for about a month. And I could talk for a while about what I've learned. From IT and User pont of view.
I tend to dabble in many things. There is no "one end-all" social application people. It will keep evolving and the best of us can integrate anything new into our existing worlds.
So get off your high horses and come down to Earth. (jeeze that's kinda preachy)

Sorry A T Hun my post has been hidden by moderators keen to protect my anonimity. Strange really when the whole purpose of the post was to do just that.
You obviously read it before it was hidden because I have your link, it uses email but I assume that in the process it does so without revealing either of our email addresses.
I have made a direct reply but the word limit is a bind.

uh oh, or OMG. no I didn't see it. Found you on Twit though.
one I noticed about Twit, you can have the name and even the @ID; yet, you can't find them in the "who to look for" search.
Could not find @BetterMade, no matter what.
Which reminds me, today is national Potato Chip day over hear, across the pond. Was going to proclaim to all who would listen.
And, seems like the new hootoo blocks for no apparent reason.

H2g2 is not at its best at the moment. All sorts of bugs to sort out ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/A78067353 )
The moderating of my post is a mystery to me, the BBC says it broke their rules, for the love of me I can't see why.
I still use the old site. If you can get to the new site you should be able to get to the old site try http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel it works pretty much the same as the new site and is more reliable.
Every day is fish and chip day in the UK.
Not at all sure about Twitter as a community site. The word limit on messages is a bind and as you say getting to a specific twitterer is a bit hit and miss.
H2g2 outdates Twitter by a few years and is much more versatile when you get to know it.

I would call Twitter a timing thing. Good for what's happening at the moment. Good for marketing too.
I got your message in the Twit, Yahoo told me. Have to use twit to view it. And, only can send messages to people who are following you. Did next best thing, I @mentioned something at you.

Twits are like buses. You wait for one and then three come all at once.
Don't quite see your problem. You can post here with no limit on characters. In fact you could write a book if you wanted.
Have you found the old site ?

If you mean (old site), putting the dna before the /h2g2, yes. It was the only way I could get it to look like before. I won't use the new look, for now.
And by problem, if you're referring to me using things such as these. The explanation goes like this: Since I'm on computers all day at work, sometimes it's hard to get me in front of one at home. Especially, if it involves very much typing. Don't expect any books out of me.
This has been my job for over twenty years now. Various locations. What I end up telling people is, I'm a facilitator. I make all this stuff work so you can chat/text/tweet people.
then, I'm on may way.
Key: Complain about this post
