Hi folks,
I was thinking about putting my Entry 'The art of teaching a cat to fetch' forward for Peer Review for addition in the Guide, but I wondered if you would like to comment on it before I post it.
It's at:

Please note that the Entry is non-fiction =o]
With thanks and best wishes

Hi Noel,
I think you should get a good response to this one. The links in the opening paragraph need a bit of tinkering though. Try to make whatever links you use as short as possible, a word or two is best; and you should try to use the title of the Entry that you are linking to, as in,
'... misconception thatDogs hold the monopoly...'

Excellent advice, thanks - taken on board and updated to reflect your comments. I may well post the Entry for review - nice to get feedback - both positive and negative.
I can see myself getting addicted to writing for the Guide ;o)

Brilliant....have you actually got the cat fetching the ball on demand?
Definitely worthy of inclusion in the guide, in my humble opinion.

Yep - the boy kitten fetches while the girl kitten helps. One of their sisters also fetches at my mothers' place. It just takes persistence and using their natural playfulness to encourage certain actions.
Who said you can't teach an old cat new tricks? *smirk*

In a circus in Shanghai a dozen years ago i saw an act that featured half a dozen cats doing the sort of tricks that people say you can't get cats to do. I'm sure your method - starting young, putting a lot of time in and reinforcing the actions you want - is what does it.

Editorial Note: This Conversation has been moved to the new 'Flea Market' Forum.
This is where we move any Peer Review, Writing Workshop or Alternative Writing Workshop Conversations where the original author has *not* posted to h2g2 for three months. This prevents the active Review Forums from clogging up with dormant entries, but in the Flea Market they can be picked up by others and polished off.

I'll take over this entry if that's OK with everyone.
