Devonian or Medieval?
The Unmentionable Marauding Pillowcase Started conversation Dec 9, 2000
An obscure paleontological joke - the Devonian period, of course, was between 408 and 360 million years ago and therefore a bit more ancient than merely 'medieval'!
And imagine a drought lasting 'weeks' - over here nine months is not such an exceptional length for the dry season to last.
Nice article, glad it got accepted!

Ah, yes, but we're so unprepared in the UK that the instant it stops raining for a day, all our resevoirs run dry...
(not to mention that when it starts raining again, all the trains stop because of 'floods')
