Hi - just a quick comment as a scout: you might care, if you haven't seen it already, to combine in this entry by Wonko the Sane: http://www.h2g2.com/A472682

I'll be off now... smiley - smiley

Scratch that: didn't read the entry - just posted Wonko's entry, since he believed it was worth combining, and I wanted to actually read it myself in my own time (offline...)

nod... smiley - online2long

I was trying to suggest that the entry would benefit from mentioning the other strategy in extended prisoner's dilemma: tit for tat with second chances (IE, every now and again you give someone who betrayed you another chance to turn good) - and pointing to Wonko's entry which talks about it. But I made that suggestion before reading the entry (trying to save on internet bills), and the entry is so stunningly brilliant that I then wanted to retract said comment... smiley - sadface

I suspect that if A472682 wants to get on in the world it could do with rearranging itself into proper paragraphs and taking advantage of a spellcheck facility. smiley - smiley

Also, the author doesn't give any background detail or bibliographic material - where has the information come from and to what does it pertain? I wouldn't really want to see it combined with this article, as I've put a fair bit of work into it and the 'Tit-for-Tat Revised' piece would lower the overall quality quite substantially; besides, I've already made a fair job of combining some work by another researcher on a similar theme (credit given at top of page), so it doesn't really cover any new ground...

All the best, Lear

PS - "lengthy ramblings," Lucinda? The word is "discursive," if you don't mind... smiley - winkeye

Hi Lear, I didn't write my entry to go into the edited section. Nor do I want to mix it with yours, which I think is well done. I did write it to clarify my attitude towards the problem. What I could imagine is that you put in one or two sentences describing Tit for Tat revised and I do not want any credits, cause that's not why I'm here.

Thank you Lear smiley - smiley

Hi Wonko. Thanks for the comments - I know you weren't plugging the entry yourself, and that it was someone else's idea to include it here. I'll see if I can write in a line or two about 'Tit-for-Tat revised' but I suspect it might be a bit late to catch the editors by now. Also, the article's already a little bit too long. But I'll have a go, when I get the time... smiley - smiley
