Thanks
I wanted to write something that may help someone or someone may find useful. I decided to write about OCD as it is quite rare and signs of the disorder can be difficult to see so hopefully Ive outlined some important points.

Is it true that this disorder affects men more than women? If so, it may be worth mentioning. Maybe you did mention it and I missed it.

Thats a good point thanks
When researching the disorder I couldnt find any facts suggesting if a particular sex was more at risk of the disorder, but it was shown that you are more likely to have the disorder during adolescence (childhood/teen) but there has been no proof to show that it is caused by childhood experiences.
Ill add this to my entry

This entry is "Really Great". Well written, good research. My only constructive point is that it'd be a good idea to change "I have not found any facts to suggest that a particular sex are more at risk of OCD..." to "No facts have been found to suggest..." or something better, because you're not supposed to use "I" in entries - just stuff like "this researcher" to make it more impersonal and stuff. Keep writing!

Actually, it'd be better to leave it "I haven't found any facts...". Saying "no facts have been found" means something completely different: it says that no one, anywhere, has found any facts that make OCD gender-specific. Unless that's what Leanne means, she should just say that she, herself, hasn't found any.
Aside from that, I don't see any problem with making entries personal. Besides, saying "this researcher" doesn't make it any less personal, just more stilted.

You're right, ranger, I wasn't sure about how to structure it (it was just a suggestion). However, the problem with saying "I" is this: each entry has the potential to be updated with additional research from one or more researchers. If the initial entry is written in the first person, and then a number of good points are added later, having a mixture of first person narrative and third person would make the entry inconsistent throughout. There are some rare exceptions to this rule, usually on topics relating to medical matters from a very personal perspective, such as Diabetes, but cases like these are the only ones I can think of that we'd allow. For more information, check out the points on combining entries in The Subbing Process.
