Excuse me? Brat? LeClair has always been known to be a gentleman on and off the ice. And I hardly pity the Panthers--not only did they give Jiri Dopita a nasty injury, but Trevor Kidd was able to hold his own. That is, until he broke down and allowed any and every kind of goal to occur. And how about that Shanahan? A hat trick on opening night--the second in his career, and he is only one of 5 active players to hold such a record.

Too bad he plays for the Wings....

Brat in arbitration. But then in that situation, you need to bring alot of attitude to bear.
Shanahan, I am sure, if your not a Wings fan, we would all love him on our respective fave teams.
Anyways. I am still a Coyotes fan thru thick and thin. And the talent for that club is mighty thin about now. Still I think Doan can grow into a great leadership role, provided he puts up the numbers to keep his confidence.
But I think I can easily become a Philly fan. They fought for the right mix. Still to early in the season to tell, but they look like they could knock alot of the competiton down.

I am going to g out on a limb here and state that no team in the East can touch the Fab Four of hockey. Colorado still has the core of it's winning combination last year, Det upgraded mightly, Dallas is still one of the best and St. louis has great talent. Not enough West vs. East games have been played yet to prove that, but I think that even with the highest paid team in Hockey (NY) and the upgraded Flyers, the east does not have the talent ot do it. I was very suprised two years ago when the Devils went all the way.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. Despite the tough reputations, the high salaries, the roster of stars, the east just doesn't seem to quite cut it. Whatever the West is doing, they're doing it well....
