Howdy,
Does this mean that once an article has been taken for sub-editing, that I will not have a chance to edit anymore? Would like to know since one of my postings has been selected.

Yes, that is what this means.
However, if you type the entry's title into the search engine, it will show the 'recommended' entry as well as your existing one.
If you go to the recommended entry, you'll be able to contact the Subeditor and ask him/her/it to make the changes you desire.
