A Conversation for Meteor Showers

Behind you!

This all reminds me of a bizarre evening when me and some of my totally unastrological family happened to be taking dinner outdoors while meteorites whizzed across the heavens.

A friend of the family had his back to the right bit of the sky and got very miffed when the entire evening's conversation was punctuated by random screams of "THERE GOES ANOTHER ONE!!", and every time he turned round they'd gone.
He thought we made the whole thing up to stop him talking about cricket.

We were actually in a suburb outside Paris at the time. I think it was one of those special nights where they show up really well.

Oh, drool!
Now you have me ~really~ envious...
A magical night indeed, within view of the most magical city on Earth.
Would you care to tell me more?
I am extremely interested!
Do you live in France?
I have not yet met a french Researcher, but I haven't been here very long.
That's why I have applied to become an A.C.E., they get to know everything that goes on...smiley - biggrin
Have you been to the Observatory? I've been told there is one on h2g2 but I can't find it, and I can't remember who told me!
Thanks again,
Crystal

No, I'm from England, but some of my family have been living in Paris for a while. I stayed with them last year because I was taking a year out in Strasbourg.

In the few weeks I've been at H2G2 I've only seen one French researcher. He calls himself "French b*****d". smiley - biggrin
Haven't seen the observatory either I'm afraid.

But yeah, basically we were pretty lucky! Paris really is wonderful.
