h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I began school a year after the end of world war II. I was not alone
among American school children in chalking the popular Kilroy image onto acceptable surfaces.

An older friend (who must have been all of nine at the time) taught
me the Kilroy song:

No one has ever seen the guy,
they don't know who he is.
I'm telling you guys its Kilroy,
he really is a whiz.

He gets around,
he's a traveling man.

I've seen it at the baseball game,
I've seen it at the fair.
I've seen it at the movies,
I've seen it everywhere:

Kilroy's been here,
Kilroy's been here.

The FBI are on his trail,
but nothing they can find....

(sorry, that's all I have recalled.)
I think my friend had learned it from the radio.

A few comments in response to your post:

One of the things in the <./>HouseRules</.> is that people are not allowed to post copyright-protected material on h2g2 -- which in general, includes pretty much all song lyrics from the last 75 years.

If you look at the top of this page, you'll see that this is the page for feedback about the h2g2 project -- it's where people can come to give there thoughts about h2g2, the site's goals, stuff like that. People who might be able or interested in answering your question wouldn't know to look here. One of the best places on h2g2 to go ask questions is <./>askh2g2</.> -- there are loads of people who hang out there and are interested in answering questions on all sorts of topics.
