It is a long time since I have looked at the h2g2 site. I was a contributor years ago when it first started. How very very sad I was to see the browser redirect me to the bbc online site. The whole point of the site was it's freedom of ideas and to be a little different wasn't it? Now we are stuck with the BBCs lovely restraints and red tape. I couldnt even log onto the site without registering with the bbc and all I wanted to do was send this feedback! Just wonderful...

Freedom of ideas - yes, but it doesn't come cheap. h2g2 was going bust, by now the servers would have been in the trash. The BBC took on the site, we had absolutely no alternative whatsoever.
So h2g2 with BBC or no h2g2. That was the choice. Would you have made a different decision?
