There is no thread to join up, so i thought of just asking if i could joing the LUG... it might also help the LUG if a sign up page was created for future reference of signups

I have the same query - I'm an active member of two Linux IRC rooms and have always wanted to join a LUG. Is it possible to join Hootoo's?

Subscribing to the conversation list is about all it seems to takes here ... I've been posting questions and answering them for several years here but never received a Membership card

How is Mepis, by the way? I've heard good things about it, but I've never really tried it.
