This is the first of what I hope will be a string of entries about my hometown Bergen. I haven't got the GuideML straight yet but I hope I will get some help on the way.

Hi BB!
Some comments.
I think this is an excellent start for an article, but it's a little light on detail at the moment. What detail is there - the inclusion of Bryggen in the World Heritage List, the hisotry of the area, etc. - is good, but little is said about how people feel about it now, or about how many people visit it, what they do there, etc.
The use of pictures is problematic, unless they come from h2g2's own collection - now accessible from the front page. I think the picture you already have in there is a good illustration, but it might not make it into the 'Guide.
A 'series of articles' on Bergen is also a bit difficult to foresee. It would be easier to access, and more comprehensive, to combine them all in one big one. Although what you've written here is a useful pointer to the uniqueness of the Bryggen area, without additional references to Bergen itself, it would be difficult for foreigners (like me...!) to understand where and how all this fits in. A good example of the kind of 'comprehensive' article I mean is the one on Canberra, Australia (I can't remember the address, but it's easy enough to look up), which covers most aspects of that city.
A good start, but it needs something more, I think...

I see the GuideML is now sorted...
I agree with Hypoman: the sensible thing would be to have a single, comprehensive, entry about Bergen, rather than splitting it up into several pieces.
If you want to have seperate pieces on different aspects, then you have to make each piece long enough to be worthwhile including on the guide on its own. This entry just seems a bit... short as is. You could write quite a bit more, I think.
What do you think?

Oh, I'd love to finish this, but there's just not enough time to work with these things in my life right now.
Just figuring out the GuideML will take hours I don't have at the moment so I just have to put this on ice for now.
It bugs me, but that's how it is
Thanks anyway.

Hi, Bumblebee!
Actually, from both a Scout and Sub-editor viewpoint (mine, actually), I'd say that whatever substantive changes you can make (i.e., adding details to the text) would be FAR more important than whatever GuideML-ing you do. As a sub-editor, I can fix up the GuideML on an accepted entry in about 15 minutes -- what I can't do, is add in all that lovely information that you know and I don't.

Allright, look now!
I could add some thing about the building methods but I don't know how interesting that is.

well, wait around a bit. see if anyone else stops by and makes some comments. sooner or later, some friendly, happy-go-lucky scout will come by and recommend your entry. it can take a bit, though, as we each only get to recommend 3 entries per month, and there are a LOT of really good entries out there!

Hmm - I'd like a bit more about Bryggen now, I think - rather than just about the history of the place... and I'd also like to know what happened between 1955 and the present day...
Yeah, yeah - "I want" never gets...

Ah yes! Beautiful entry, and obviously overseen for long...
IMHO it's about time a Scout recommended it! There's some 'I's and 'We's to the bottom, and the title should be something like 'The history of...', but those are peanuts.

Congratulations!
