Nope, beat me with twigs, I can't make it. :(

Sorry, all; I can afford it at the moment, but I've been planning to put £20 in to the Disasters Emergency Committee and after that I won't be able to. I know it seems selfish to pass up the chance of some beer for the sake of starving kids, but I've promised myself now and that's how it's gonna happen. - Perhaps next time, although a couple of weeks warning at a minimum would be nice unless it's in Aberdeen.

That's a shame. Although, to be fair, the discussion thread has been going on since the middle of June...

How about you make it and we all pitch in towards that donation? Look at it as a sponsored drinking session, if you will. Would be good to have another one of the original researchers at the meet since DD and FC haven't notified their interest in attending, and Joanne probably won't be able to make it, and SPINY, Underground Caoline and B-17 have more or less disappeared off the face of the earth.

It's a kind offer, and I wish I could. The train and the food in each direction would wipe me out financially at the moment, though, even discounting the cost of drinks. And I'd have to arrange accommodation...
It's not the night out that costs the money. I'm Diabetic, and need to eat something every couple of hours - at home I can do that for pennies.
Maybe next time...

Oh, right.. Forgot about that part of it.
Well, be assured that we will have a drink for you.
