I have taken the liberty of linking to this piece from an entry I am writing on 'The Trundle'. As a polite sort of Chichester-bred (Not 'born' mind you) person, I should have asked first, but I didn't. So much for type-casting.
I liked your entry a lot, and chuckled at the last bit about Fishbourne and school parties. I was living there when they first discovered it in a field at the end of our road. Never did go there, and schooldays are long long gone so perhaps I never will!
You might have mentioned a little about Georgian Chichester, The Pallants and all that. Wool trade and stuff. Incidentally, the company that Olivier formed at Chichester Theatre in 1963 went on to become The National Theatre Company.
Enough ancient history!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
